My Wants (And how you can help) I always seem to start with 'Ok,', so I'm going to start this post differently. Alright, so this site is not going anywhere as it is, and this saddens me, I'm to attached to remove the thing, so I'm going to have to do something about it. To change this site from dead and inactive, I need to work on it, dedicate time to it, and implement my ideas. Mast of these I can do all on my own, simple backend changes here and there go a long way at improving the frontend, but what I can't do on my own/in my current state are the following things, if you think you can help with any of these, let me know... you might even get something from all of this. Simple gaming blog This is an easy one to implement, a bit harder to get looking nice, but still really easy. I want the main page to be constantly having new information on it, opinion pieces on the latest news, general ranting about this, that and the other gaming thing. This is a simple thing to do, it just takes a bit of time in both researching the gaming world and typing up a post than looks like someone older than 10 wrote it (that means proper grammar and spelling) How you can help Well I'm not available to be doing stuff 24/7, I don't have enough time to be doing everything all the time. I need people willing to spend time and effort to be helping with researching and writing up posts, of course I'm not going to let just anyone write for the mainpage, but knowing me is probably a plus. I will eventually have a way for anyone to notify me of news & for me to be able to promote someones personal blog posts (we do have a blog system here) to the mainpage. Software/Game Reviews This is a bit more than an opinion piece on a new game, this is a well written opinion piece on lots of new games, that are databased with a numerical value in order to compare each game side-by-side. Personally, I'm not a fan of numerical reviews, so I'll have to think of some new and interesting scoring methods, but until then I'll be using numerical scores. How you can help As before, I don't have the time to be playing all the games out there, judging how good it is in certain areas and writing up the review. I alse can't afford to buy every new game out there nor do I enjoy all types of game (I will give any MMORPG a 0 for terrible combat mechanism). So I need people with different viewpoints, different games to access & review and time to review them. Unless you are a gaming company (unlikely), then you can just send me stuff to review. Hardware Reviews This is the big one that will not happen for a long time. I want to be able to review PC hardware, console/pc peripherals and the likes. The only way this will happen is if I manage to get enough money to afford this junk, a lot of peripherals for consoles are not really useful, to review PC hardware, you need multiple base systems, and hardware to compare it to, this is a LOT of money, I would love to know how some people manage to afford to do these things, or get started enough to be able to be helped out by the hardware manufacturers How you can help Unless you are able to send me lots of shiny hardware to review, or you somehow have lots of shiny hardware, there's not much you can do. For now, if you have any peripherals you want to review, and have the time to write up a review, you can help me, but in the long run, lots of stuff will not get reviewed that maybe should have been. breaker how are you dude! glad to see you still have this site up. Id love to see it running again but preferably with the old crew, and we both know that probably will not happen ;( guess everybody moves on at some point. checked for the first time in at least a year, Ivent touched CS for a few years despite making it pretty big in holland ^^ but I have fond memories of this clan and the forums, as it was one of my first clans, probably the first real one. maybe theres another way to get it back up n running, but with new folks. offer some gaming team that needs a site to use this forum as their gaming website, in exchange for playing under the BPG tag? the name still holds appeal to me and probably many,as a MGC/clan name. just tell m they'll need to take care of servers/ventrilo for themselves? dont know if you are into the idea. best of luck mate!
I'm good man. I probably haven't loaded up 1.6 for a few years, don't even know the password for the account that I have the game on. I'm playing loads of left 4 dead 2 at the moment, but thats with people from another gaming community, and we are far from playing seriously (but still win 95% of games, normally due to the other team accusing of hacking and then leaving). I just don't see a way of bringing back traffic here anymore The community died and we all went our separate ways (or maybe the other way around), now there's a million gaming communities out there and we offer nothing new or interesting. I used to have all these great ideas about turning this site into something, then never getting around to doing it. One of those ideas is being used by a very popular site (giantbomb, just to show how long ago this idea was, the guys were still working for gamespot when I thought of it)
