Now Playing in Postbit

You may have noticed in my postbit i have a "Now Playing" bit

This is done by using a WinAMP script, if you want more info i'll post it. but basically winamp goes to a special URL everytime it changes song using a plugin, which then creates a query to the database which is then put into the postbit

YOU must be running Winamp 2.x or 5.x.(3.x will not work) get the latest version at winamp.com. you must also be running the DoSomething plugin. you can get the latest version from here.

right click in Winamp and go to Options -> Preferences. Then under Plugins, go to General Purpose. Double click on "DoSomething Plugin". Uncheck "Disable Plugin".

Under Actions, select "Submit a URL". input "http://www.bpgaming.com/forums/nowplaying.php?username=username&password=password&song=%%URL_CURRENTSONG%%" where username is your username and password is your password.

this sohuld hopefully work


EDIT [26th December 2004] - I changed the URL by changin "yoursite" to "bpgaming" so that it will work without changing that

ok:

-do you enter it in "URL" or "URL File something something"
-what version are you running? I have 1.22
-what should the commandline look like? With or without the quotes?

-URL Result File is left blank, u enter it in URL
-1.22....if your tlaking about the DoSomething plugin this should be fine
-no quote in command line

where i cocked up was not adding the 'submit URL' to the action list, have you done that?

i cocked up by not pressing the "add" button after id submitted the URL.

another screw-up could be not unitcking the "Disable Plugin" box which is on by defealt annoyingly
