[Hardware] Logitech MX510

Hi! This is my first hardware review so dont kill me if you dont agree .

Tonight Ill be talking about Logitech's Gamer mouse.
Lets skip right to the specs, shall we:
-8 buttons
-scrollweel
-5.3 megapixel scanning (optical)
-logitechs customisable mouse utility.
-wire mouse
-p/s2 or usb compatible (plugpiece to transfer to p/s2)

What makes this mouse special?
Well it is NOT special in any way except everything you WANT in a mouse is there. The shape is great, the handling and accuracy are everything youve ever dreamed of. Its also a solidly built mouse. I wont give a full 10 out of 10 because
a) its not for left-handed people
b) its too big if youre a woman or a guy with small hands It wont fit your hand. And,
c) not all 8 buttons can be used ingame (it IS supposed to! Logitech advertises with it!) I dont know about every game but so far I havent seen one that allows you to use them. At least HL and DoD dont.)
---8.5/10 for technical issues---

Well now we know what kind of mouse were talking about. Its my personal favorite but if youre actually going to buy this mouse RE-A-LISE THESE THINGS!!!
-youre spending about 50 euros. That is a LOT of money for a mouse! If you think its too much lower the 8.5 I gave with 0.50 points. If you dont have a mouse yet add 0.25 points.
-the blue/black style might not look good on your desktop! If you think this will look cool, add 0.125 points. If you think itll be darn ugly substract (is that the right word?) 0.5 points. Only do this if you CARE about how itll look.

Well thats it! Ive told you everything there is to know about this baby. All I can say is: Try it and buy it.

Re: (mouse) Logitech MX510

Im pretty sure it would be the 510 since the 500 has lower scanning per second. In other words the only differences are the color (500 is grey, 510 is blue) and the accuracy (510 is higher than the 500)

so Id suggest you take the 510.

Kellfire is on a distinguished road
Due to getting it for £22 with a free S&S Steel mouse-mat, I got one of these last week.

Still getting used to it but hopefully it'll pay off.

walter, 510 is both in red and blue available (tho I also got the blue) nice review, breaker U could also go for the mx518 but I wouldnt know the prize and only some small advantages, like sensitivity changing with the push of a button for when U pick up a different kind of gun or zoom in with a sniper rifle tis bollox tho I got 510 aswell and it worx perfectly

all if you set them up correctly. 5 of the buttons work my default, the rest will require you to bind them to a key

@org: yes NOW. Not when I wrote this, that I know of.
@breaker: I didnt get them all to work with HL1 games but I didnt even try with source engine games. It doesnt matter that much. Ive got plenty of keys under my left hand.

I wouldnt suggest using a wireless mouse for gaming. Its annoying cos it just fails to work properly 100% of the time which we gamers do NEED.
