Call of Duty: United Offensive Multiplayer for PC
I would do singleplayer but I don't play it that much and its very big so i'll just stick with multiplayer.
On the multiplayer you get a unique WWII experience, in my eyes this is the best multiplayer game on the PC.
When you load it up you get the usual game setting options. The two main things you focus on are 'Start new server' and 'Join Game'.
I'll start with 'Start New Server'. To do this it's free(you can get paid ones that do eveeything). You load it up and you chose what settings your server will be on like game mode, will killcam be enabled, what map to choose etc. You can call it what you like and. This may sound pretty good but it does have its drawbacks. You can't have that many players or lag sets in. The server only shows on other computers when your PC is turned on and you are on the server. Also xfire does not appear to show these types of servers which is annoying.
'Join a Game' is what most people will go on. You load this up and you refresh the list. There will be about 1000 servers usually. There are several different game types including team deathmatch and deathmatch, search and destroy(you find the others team bomb and you blow it up). Also there is Capture the Flag and other modes thar are good fun.
The guns in the game are make very realistic sounds and have good chartaristics, stuff like weight and firepower etc.
On most maps you get vehicles(you can get jeeps or tanks), these are extremely fun in some cases, especially when it's just you and a mate(you driving and him on the back tearing through enemy ground on a near death experience just shouting to each stuff like "SHOOT HIM" , or "TAKE A LEFT".) Believe me these are a great addition. The handling is quite good although the brakes are poor but it's not a racing game so you don't expect perfection.
There are 4 different teams you can be, on the allied side you can be the Americans which have the classic tommy gun and the Sherman tank, the British which have the amazing accurate Bren, but don't have a tank or jeep in the game. There is the Russians which have the extremely mobile T34 tank(most commonly known from the Battle of Kursk). The Germans are the only Axis side and have a good variety of weapons and a light and a heavy tank(the same as the Russians). On different maps the teams get different uniforms and on a game there is always one german team against either one of the three allied teams(depending on the map).
In game you can give simple commands that are programmed into the game or you can talk on game with a mic or you can type with out everyone reading it over xfire. You can also type normally.
There is a varied amount of maps and there is a good selection of them ranging from the urban warm climate of Carentan over to Hurtgern where it is a sniping battlefield plagued in snow.
Overall Scores:
Graphics: 8.5/10 It's mostly very nice but it can look odd in some places.
Sound 10/10 Realistic gun sounds, arty pouring down on top of you, the sound couldn't bet better.
Gameplay: 9/10 Very good, spawn protection etc, very little cheating and glitches, good pings but WWII isn't everyones choice.
Lifespan 9.5/10: This could go on forever until the next version came out.
Overall 9.3/10: This is a very good game but not everyones cup of tea, however if you like any type of FPS then this is the game for you.
