    Site Updated: Styling Coming Soon

Okay, so I have actually updated to the vBulletin 4 Suite after telling myself I wouldn't touch vB4 due to not liking the practices of the company that took over and the software being full of bugs; but the system is growing on me, and I was looking for a well integrated "CMS/Blog" system to use for my new idea for how the site is going to go.

So the site now has personal blogs, frontpage articles, and a forums section. The frontpage can be split into sections and categories, which differ in slightly different ways (A section will show posts from all sub categories, but not from sub sections; Sections show in the nav bar seperately where categories are only shown in sidebar). I will work out how to set these up eventually for better implementation of the system I want to have. (I actually want sections to act as categories, but we'll see what I can do). This CMS doesn't actually appear to have any content management system (yeah, I know, irony much), I can't seem to find a way to create static pages, which really sucks, but I might just be missing something; but it appears to just be an article system... and therefore just a well constrained blog... which isn't quite what I want.

Anyway, I will be using the CMS to post any news I happen to come across, write small reviews on whatever game I have started playing recently, or any new hardware I have got my hands on. Hopefully it will get to the point where people actually read what I'm writing and I become "media" or the likes, but I don't think I'll ever get there, not enough motivation.

The blogs will be used for whatever you want, anyone can have a blog and write their own blog entries. The CMS also shows the latest blog entries, and I can make some blogs entries "featured", which pretty much sticks them to the main blog page I think, which could be interesting; hopefully some people write some interesting things that will be worth featuring. I'll personally be using the blog to rant about programming, music and games in a personal space.

The forums will be taking a back seat, they used to be the main focus of the site, but that was then we had about 20 active members discussing the clans or just insulting each other because they were friends at school. It was all good fun, but was never going to grow into anything and eventually died. It has been sitting there dormant for a long time now, hopefully this time I will go through with my plans and the forums will pick up, somewhere close to where they used to be, but really, I'll be happy when someone other than a spam bot registers and starts posting. Hopefully some of the originals will come back and start posting again.

    [insert catchy sign off here]

Aye not bad cheers. I've been pretty tied down with my dissertation over the past couple of weeks, but that's all done now. I have a feeling I'm going to be making up for the past few weeks of soberness tonight.

Haha, I'll do my best to post every now and then.
